Bradbury has a way with words, and I prefer his short stories to his other stuff. I’m not generally a horror person, and you can see where this one is going, but the tone and everything just flows together so well. 3.5 stars, basically. Great halloween read.
Plot summary
Beware: full spoilers! Also probably incomplete and possibly incomprehensible.
Hypochondriac is feeling an ache in his bones, creepy faux doctor reminds him subtly that he’s a walking around with a skeleton inside him, he flips out, finally caves and accepts the creepy dude’s help, who then steals his bones and makes off with them, leaving the protagonist a human jelly on the floor.
