Surprisingly vague in my memories โ there’s extensive plotting and world-building, and I’m usually a sucker for this repeating apocalypse thing (remember Pern?), especially when the last one starts to pass out of memory! But I think the characters just didn’t stick with me? The rogue prince running from his failed empire (who had to carry his fantasy race exposition) plus the mercenary/warrior/escapee from the Evil Nuns, plus the world somehow ending, plus the alien grossness โฆ and too many apostrophes, to be quite honest. And no big twist, everything signalled way ahead of time.
