Nothing in this book worked for me. The sulky protagonist, the flat romance, the “quirky” family dynamic, the evil antagonist sister, the centaurs … nothing. The dialogue is terrible, yet drives most of the plot as if this was a screenplay. Also bad takes on alcoholism. Nope.
