Mind candy, popcorn read. Felt like Royal Road quality despite being published in the 80s. Wallie is Mr Self Insert, teleported on death from a hospital to be a hero in a fantasy world, complete with religions, evil priests, very nearly very icky relationships, and most importantly, being the coolest dude.
Too straight and too boring for me. Not terrible, but I can read better books for escapism. Also the whole “Is this an imaginary world? Am I imagining slavery? That’s so fucked up โฆ no wait, the world is real, I guess this is fine, I’ll treat her really well \o/” shtick was kinda, eh, ehhhhh.
This book is part of the 2022 Backlog Incident.
