Weird to read a book when you know that there’s a debate re: cultural appropriation about it. I kept falling out of the story to try and figure out my opinion about that and other meta things.
All things considered, this one didn’t grab me. I largely like Russian/Slav fairytales, but the Koschei one never was my favourite. I can see the appeal, but ehhhhh idk.
