Several People Are Typing

Cover of Several People Are Typing.

Not sure if I’m just feeling grumpy. This was solid work tone-wise, but that’s not enough to carry more than a short story. Slackbot-horror sounds nice as a concept, but doesn’t have legs (heh) for more than micro-to-short fiction, I think. Didn’t quite feel like I wasted my time, but close call.

Plot summary

Beware: full spoilers! Also probably incomplete and possibly incomprehensible.

Guy is sucked into Slack, continues working from there, vaguely horror-like things continue to happen to his coworkers. Slackbot achieves consciousness and escapes into protag’s body, but is ousted by the coworker who unrealistically took care of his body for months and in the meantime fell in love with him.
