I cannot tell you why I bounce off Accelerando so completely. I tried reading it twice, and when the third attempt finally got me through in early 2023, I … apparently read it? I got a file filled with highlights/quotes, and I remember absolutely zilch. I guess after some prompting I did remember the whole “teenager escapes home by enslaving herself to like ten shell companies cleverly stacked” bit after a lot of prompting. I get on fine with Stross books otherwise, so no idea what’s going on.
